Christ Apostolic Church is a distinctly indigenous African Church with headquarters in Nigeria, but with members spread across the world. We are the pioneer Pentecostal Church in Africa, with a membership base of presently over five million, made up of men and women, families from diverse sectors of the social strata. Our history is traceable directly to the definite outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Nigeria, Africa, in the great revival which began in 1930 through the ministry of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola. The Church is renowned as a praying church, and we believe that healings, miracles, and other signs and wonders as recorded in the book of the Acts of the Apostles are meant to manifest today.

Soul winning and spiritual re-awakening of the world
The history of the Church can be traced to a group of men in Ijebu-Ode, a town in Ogun State, in western Nigeria who, about the year 1918, had a burden to begin to meet for prayer outside Church regulated prayer meetings. Akinyele (the traditional ruler of Ibadan town). They were joined later by one Miss Sophia Odunlami (who later became Mrs Ajayi). She was later to become prominent, as many miracles and signs were wrought by the Holy Spirit through her.
